Reserved List III

E4. Page 420

Of course, after the last crown was assigned there could be no more vacancies; and hence all on the reserved list as well as all future consecrators had no other Kingdom class position open for their entry than that reserved for the Youthful Worthies.

(19) Question: Should we now encourage believers to consecrate, with Youthful Worthies' prospects as their hope?

Answer: We should now encourage believers to consecrate, because consecration is always in order. We should, however, not now encourage any one to consecrate in hope of the High Calling.

Reserved List II

E4. Page. 420

Apparently the Lord made between 1881 and 1914 a reserved list of those consecrators for whom there were no crowns available at the time of their consecration; and when a vacancy occurred, He selected the most available one on the reserved list for that vacancy. Doubtless the Lord considered at least three things in deciding the availability of the candidates: (1) their spirit of faithfulness, (2) their talents for that particular place in the Body for which there was a crown vacant, and (3) their providential situation.

The current Executive Trustee's "present view" is exposed as an error. Reserved List? If there was a class of Youthful Worthies in 1878 or 1881, what was the purpose of having them on a "Reserved List?"

Reserved List I

E4 Page. 419
(18) Question: Is it correct to say that some who consecrated after 1881 and before 1914 were put into the Youthful Worthies class, because there were no vacancies at the time in the Little Flock, and that subsequently some of them were received by Spirit-begettal into the High Calling to fill vacancies there, while others remained among and are now of the Youthful Worthies class?

Answer: Yes

Taking the question out of the present perfect and with some creative mental gymnastics one might be able to twist the meaning to infer there was a separate and distinct class for the Youthful Worthies in 1881. In the next sentence, Bro. Johnson dispels this notion and explains why this can't be so. See "Reserve List II" coming soon.

"The Lord evidently held them in reserve" 1881 - 1914

With a sincere heart, ask yourself these Berean questions from the Truth writings:

"When did the Youthful Worthies not exist as individuals of a class? What has transpired since then? Since the Fall of 1914? What is the reason for the Youthful Worthies coming into existence as a class? Therefore what did not happen to the surplus consecrators?"-PT. 1972 Pg. 57

"Before the General Call to the Divine nature and joint-heirship with Christ ceased in 1881, the persons that we call "Youthful Worthies" did not exist as individuals of a class; but since that time they have come into existence as such, and since the Fall of 1914 have become very marked as a separate and distinct class. The reason for the Youthful Worthies coming into existence as a class, though for a time undiscerned as such, is that, after the General Call ceased in 1881, more people consecrated to the Lord than could be probationarily assigned vacated crowns i.e., places in the Little Flock; and therefore the surplus consecrators, though receiving the enlightenment of the holy Spirit, were not Spirit-begotten. The Lord evidently held them in reserve; and as from time to time crowns were lost by the measurably unfaithful, He selected the most faithful and eligible of the surplus consecrators and by Spirit-begettal probationarily assigned to them the crowns that were lost. As time went on, the number of surplus consecrators in reserve continued increasing more rapidly than the number of lost crowns; consequently, a large number of these consecrators was in reserve when the last eventual Little Flock members came under the call (see PT No. 515—a copy free on request)."- PT. 1972 Pg. 34

How simple the Truth is to understand when we see why the Lord "held them in reserve" in order to complete the call to the Church in 1914.
